Re-source Your Resource

We all use resources that are presented to us or that we go searching for. Resources are essential in pretty much any aspect of life.

You’re trying to get from point A to point C … what do you do if you don’t know what point B is? You find someone who does.

You get the help that boosts you to the next level.

As a good amount of indie writers self-publish, we are in constant search of resources that can help us improve not only our sales, but our writing, editing, book covers, promotions and so forth.

Social media plays an essential role in this. Connect with other writers, bloggers, designers and the sort. You not only can benefit from their knowledge of how certain things work, but you can also almost always provide some of your own to them.

Networking and building up resources is a part of the life work, the framework, of a writer. Especially if you are indie.

Every possible thing you can learn from another person can teach you things that do and don’t work for you. It doesn’t matter if they are in a different genre or in the same. I don’t like to say ‘take advantage of,’ but in this case, it’s the right term.

So grab onto the horns of the metaphorical bull and take a ride. Grab the resources that you can from all who provide a proffered hand, but don’t forget to pass that knowledge to others. Take advantage of anything and everything that can help you better yourself.
