Sugar, Spice and A Whole Lot of Other Ingredients – That’s Me.

I’m a very all-over-the-place type of person. So let me give you a quick rundown of some of the things that have led me to where I am today.

I started out writing poems. Just short pieces about whatever was going through my mind at the time. Then in high school, I had the school paper as an elective and I wrote about sports. Let me tell you, I loved getting out of class. That teacher was a menace. But what I loved more was talking to athletes and highlighting the good that came at my urban school associated with so much drama.

Once I hit college, and my slightly stalkerish obsession with Chris Brown decreased, (was totally one of those teenage girls who had all his posters and knew the words to every single song. I still know the lyrics to most of his songs, but I digress) I started writing fan fiction. It wasn’t just about him and I loved for people to give me ideas of what they wanted to read. I ran with that and it was fun. Of course I started writing totally unrelated stories as well.

My first serious novel writing was about a daughter investigating her fathers murder, but not knowing he was the victim in her case. Let’s just say that story isn’t complete and may never be. I might have to start from scratch and change up the flow of the story.

I’m not quite sure what it is I find so fascinating about crime stories. Maybe it’s the fact that, more often than not, the person causing so much stress and strife is caught in the end. Or maybe it’s that I get to play detective and try to figure out “who done it.”

I also don’t know what sparked my adoration of crime and romantic suspense, but that seems to be my thing. I love a good suspense, a mystery, a thriller, but what really gets me hooked is a nice underlying love story unraveling along with solving some type of crime.I don’t know what that means about my personality or how my brain works, but I do know I like it and that’s the gist of me.
