- Rae Shawn is the pen name for the author of Cane’s Justice. She is also a journalist.
- She has a B.S. in sociology, an A.A. in journalism, an A.A. in photojournalism and an A.A. in public relations. She studied at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where she received her bachelor degree and Pierce College, where she received her associates degrees.
- She loves tattoos, piercings, the Saints and pretty much anything purple. You will see this sprinkled throughout her writing.
- She started writing poetry when she was 15 and began her first novel when she was 18. It took until she was 29 to complete a novel, but she said “better late than never, right?”
- Writing has been her way to escape reality when things have her feeling some type of way. If she’s not writing, she’s reading, watching movies or television, or talking with friends. She likes to see the ideas of others come to life either on the screen or on the page.
